About Harvest

The shop started as Organic Gertrude on Gertrude St, Fitzroy in 2001, and moved to the current location at 108 Station Street Fairfield in 2004.

In 2014 the shop was relaunched as Harvest Foodstore, and we took over the shop in August 2016.

We aim to serve the community, offering the best quality organic produce available, sourced direct from local farmers as much as possible. We also offer a vast array of locally baked breads, including our main supplier Baker D. Chirico whose bread arrives warm every morning, much to the happiness of those who drop by.

Our shelves are stocked full of organic groceries and well priced flours, grains, cereals, nuts, dried fruit and chocolate treats sold in bulk to save you money. We also have our own pre-packed range if you're flying through so you can grab what you need quickly and easily. 

Deeper into the store you'll find a fully stocked dairy fridge with all the yoghurts, both flavoured and plain, cheese, milk, tofu and eggs.

There's also organic beef and lamb, ham and bacon.

Our cafe boasts a seasonal menu with organic and local produce used to concoct an evolving and spectacular collection of dishes, as well as savoury pastries, baguettes and sweet treats.
